Help/Troubleshooting
About
Endstar is still in mid-development, and that means there are some rough issues you may into from time to time. This page is for help provide resources regarding common issues using Endstar and the Endstar Launcher.
Cannot login
Check your credentials on the Endless Studios website. If you can login there, and not in the launcher/Endstar client, then please email support [email protected]
If you cannot login to the website, please follow the "Forgot Password?" process for account recovery.
The world disappeared!
If you're playing/creating and suddenly the world disappears with the UI and skybox remaining this indicates that you lost connection to the match and that the game hasn't realized it yet. You can use the menu to "End Match" which will notify the client that you're no longer in the match. If this is happening repeatedly, your internet connection may be unstable.
Timeouts
If you are getting any messages indicating a timeout, it means the message to the backend took too long. This usually indicates connectivity issues to the backend. Your connection could be dropping or overloaded.
Try running a Speed Test to check your upload and download speeds, in case your network is being overloaded. This is especially common during live events if many people on the same connection are installing Endstar, or opening levels for the first time (as they have not downloaded and any UGC content to their local cache yet). After initial install, it requires relatively little bandwidth to support it, and only spikes in usage when downloading fresh content.
Connection issues
Check out Installation Guide to make sure you're allowing traffic to the required end points.
Purple Terrain
If you load a level and the terrain is a purple color with a star like effect, that means it failed to load, either failing the download, or failing to load from your hard drive. Simply reloading the level will often fix this. If the issue persists, double check that the asset is still valid, and consider clearing your cache from the options menu.
Gathering Log Files
Sometimes, it may be necessary to send log files to the team. To find the relevant log files:
